NARS Larger than Life Lipgloss in Place Vendome and Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Grège 734

Hi Beauty Queens

Today I am going to share with you 2 of my recent purchases.

1)  NARS Larger than Life Lipgloss in Place Vendome
Photobucket
I love this baby. It probably has the most perfect formula. It is a raspberry red-pink colour which is vivid and opaque enough to use on its own without any lipstick. (not many lipgloss can do that!) It is not sticky so don't worry about your hair strands getting stuck in it. It glides on my lips pretty smoothly and my lips feel soft afterwards so it is not drying at all. I really like how it feels on my lips. Most lipgloss gives me the feeling that I have like a layer of gunk over my lips, but not this one!
Photobucket Photobucket
I love this raspberry shades as they gives me a nice pop of colour! I am not even wearing any blusher in this photo.

Here is the swatch in sunlight:
Photobucket

  Photobucket
You can layer up to get a darker shade!  Above photo is taken indoors without flash.

One thing I don't like about this lipgloss is defintely the applicator.
Look!
Photobucket
It is the thinnest and smallest lipgloss applicator I have seen. Almost like an eyeliner brush lol.
I guess it does give precision which I only appreciate when I really do have time to outline my lips with it first. Also with such a small brush my lipgloss becomes kind of streaky :(

Retails at 26 USD at NARS Website or Sephora website. I got this from Sephora online via vpost.

2) Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Grège 734
Photobucket
This is my 2nd dior eyeshadow palette. I love eyeshadow plaettes that comes in 4-5 colours and are handy enough to put in my handbag. First of all, they will be small enough to carry around and secondly, I do not have to bother to choose what colours to use on that day(imagine if you have 10 colours in one plaette..), just use all and you can't go wrong since the colours are put together by deisgners! And the packaging is so pretty :P

Photobucket
Neutral colours are my staple. I use them for all occasions, work, going out, parties etc etc :D

Swatch: Anyway this quint comes in a satin camel brown, a white shimmer, a pale lilac (middle colour), a iridescent grey metal colour, and lastly a satin plum brownish colour.
Dior_5-Colour_Eyeshadow_Grege_734
These shadows are very high quality and they last throughout the day even without primer. No fallouts.
They are really smooth and easy to blend, although they really aren't that pigmented. I guess the colours are not dark in the first place.

How it looks on my eyes:
First I started out with white shimmer to highlight my brow bones and inner corners of the eyes, then camel brown all over the lids for a neutral wash of colour, then grey metal on outver v, darkest plum shade to cut the crease, and finallly the lilac on the centre of the lids for more 3-D effect.

This eyeshadow quint is so easy to use. The colours blend nicely with each other to create a polished look. 59 USD from Sephora website or 98 SGD in stores like sephora, tangs, dsf in SG.

So yes, there you have it, two pdts to create an everyday makeup look that I have been wearing. :)

My Skincare Routine

Hi Beauty Queens!

Today I am going to share with you my skincare routine, basically what I apply after I cleanse my face in the morning and at night. I will also do a small review for each one.

A little background on my skin type: I have dry to normal sensitive skin, prone to rashes/red blotchy skin especially around the cheeks area. I am really sceptical in using products in fear that they might cause some allergic reaction on my skin so I stay away from any harsh chemicals.

For face:

elbeautypage_skincareroutine1

FAB Anti-Redness Serum (54 SGD)

Photobucket
On cleansed face, first, I start off with Anti Redness Serum by FAB (First Aid Beauty) from Sephora.
It is a serum that is said to calms skin and reduce visible redness by shrinking blood vessels. Contains colloidal sulfur ,aloe, ginger and bisabolol which is anti inflammatory  It is also an antioxidant booster but I am not so sure how true is that. :)

I do have mild rosaacea which has been more prominent this year hence my decision in getting this. (I blush really easily :( ! ) I get flare ups during the time of the month, or sometimes after eating shellfish like prawn/crabs/oysters. Have been using daily for a few months now and I find that this product really helps to keep my condition under control. Not sure if it is due to the product or a hormonal change. Be careful though, sometimes my skin does feel some burning sensation after application but only lasts for a like less than 2 minutes or something especially after I did a deep cleansing/scrub. Probably because of the ginger in it or either that I have ultra sensitive face. Product is fragrance free so don't expect a sweet or refreshing scent. It just smells of all the ingredients combined as I am not sure how to describe the smell. Definitely not unpleasant though, kind of medicinal, kind of plasticy but very mild.
Photobucket
Comes in an airless pump so it makes dispensing really easy and you can easily control the amount. I just use a little bit of the product since it is really more like a dense cream than a serum which I find a little hard to spread out so I kind of pat the stuff. This stuff is a bit pricey considering the amount.

Loreal Youth Code Pre-essence (39.90 SGD)

Photobucket
Next I use an anti aging serum - Youth code pre-essence bought from Wastons at 39.90 SGD. I love this and this is my fourth bottle! It really softens and smoothens the texture of my skin and hydrates it. Amazing. The Advanced Pro-Gen Technology is developed after 10 years of research and Youth Code is supposed to restore the genes and make your skin regenerate and recover 5 times faster! Doesn't it remind you of Lancome's genifique which is said to activate the skin genes? They are from the same mother company...so I kind of believe it is just the same stuff but marketed differently. :)

Anyway, not only Youth code hydrates and restores your skin's youthfulness, it actually boosts the effect of your subsequent skincare products, making them work harder for you! I only can only use one single product on my face, this would be the one.
Photobucket
Comes with a dropper which dispenses the liquid when you press the top.I use 2.5 full pumps though it is said few drops is sufficient because my skin is seriously addicted to this.  The design of the applicator is now an improved version. In previous bottles I bought, it came differently. Now it is so much easier to use!
Photobucket
You can see the serum is transparent like, and the texture lightweight making it easy to spread on your face. My face instantly absorbs this stuff! Not oily or sticky at all. Also it has a refreshing pleasant scent to it. Perfect for my mornings.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (144 SGD)

Photobucket
Another anti aging serum that I want to recommend is Estee Lauder's Advanced Nighr repair serum - highly raved everywhere and hence my recent purchase. The patented Chronolux Technology not only fights future damage but repairs past damage due to environmental effects like UV light and pollution. Skin becomes younger, more radiant and softer. Also contains hyaluronic acid for added hydration.

This is definitely much more pricey than Youth Code  which makes me think that it works better at anti-aging. :) I got this through a friend working at E.L and enjoyed staff discount!

This stuff is a little tacky on my face and smells a little strange and bitter. I really don't like the smell. It is towards the unpleasant side, but maybe it's just me. Anyway smell is like my last consideration of a product so I am okay with this. I use this at night and youth code in the morning currently since I do not want to strike youth code off my daily routine. I try to let it sit on my face to get it fully absorbed before moving to the next step since it is a little sticky. Well I could get used to it :)

Texture is thicker and less watery than youth code which explains why it is more sticky.

Application is easier than Youth Code - you just need to squeeze the top of the dropper rather than pressing some push button which feels cumbersome.

Other than it being a little sticky and stinky, this product is definitely magic in a bottle to keep those horrible wrinkles and age spots away. 94 % of Asian women feel that the skin looks more luminous and hydrated - this is stated on the website. Well so many women can't be wrong :) Please do not say I am gullible for believing some advertising statement as I put myself in the 94%. I stopped youth code and started using this for a few days and I can definitely feel the extra oomph it delivers. My skin texture is definetly more refined.

To all beauty queens out there, start using anti-aging product early! :) Its never too early to start, well maybe unless you are in your early teens...

Are you bored yet? But please read on, for I am going to show you the next step, which has given my skin so much radiance and glow!!
Tadah!

It is

Philosophy Turbo Booster C Powder! (50 SGD)

Photobucket
Vit C is scientifically proven to improve collagen synthesis. fights free radical damange as it is a powerful antioxidant and lightens hyperpigmentation.

At last something that  100% percent works!

Topical Vit C must be in a stable form and kept in a dark container as it oxidises/deteriorates
easily when exposed to light and moisture. If you are using vit C serum or cream, I recommend you to change to powder form where you can mix a fresh batch anytime. Pre made Vit C serums would have a shorter shelf life and more prone to oxidation, making the vit C ineffective.

Philosophy uses L-ascorbic acid which is the most potent and stable form of Vit C! It also has a low pH which is necessary to get past your skin barrier.

Photobucket
Comes in a little spatula which you can use to scoop out the powder. 1/2 -1 scoop is recommended.
Vit C does cause some biting sensation in your skin so start with 1/2 scoop first then slowly increase the dosage overtime. The tingling/sting is a small price to pay for the glowing and brightening effect!
philosophy_turbo_booster_c_powder_sample2 philosophy_turbo_booster_c_powder_sample3aphilosophy_turbo_booster_c_powder_sample4
How lovely it is - simple to introduce to any skincare regime. Just add to any of your moisturiser or serum!
I just put the powder on my palm, pour some Hada Labo Super Nano Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid lotion onto it, and mix it with my finger from the other hand and it dissolves nicely.
After that I rub and pat onto face.
The effect of this product on me is almost instant. My face is glowing so prettily my colleagues are all asking about it the next day :)

Hada Labo Super Nano Hyaluronic Acid lotion

Photobucket
Another fav product -  Super Hyaluronic Acid forms a locking shield to retain essential of moisture of the skin - 1 gm of it holds up to 6 litres of water! This lotion contains super and nano hyaluronic acid for maximum hydration. I am sure you have heard of their slogan : one drop locks up the ocean. This stuff keeps my skin supple and plump up all day! My skin just loves to drink it up!

Photobucket
It is like a viscous gel-like liquid and feels so smooth over my skin. If I feel my face is a bit dry, I apply another time of it after using it with the Vit C. I like to use patting motion to apply this as after a while I am able to feel the ''bouncy'' and ''qq'' effect on the skin.

I love Hada Labo because their products are free of fragances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant, perfect for my sensitive skin.

Notice I don't use toner as my face is sensitive and hence is easily irritated by the alcohol content. Japanese actually use the 'lotion'' instead of the toner step. Many japanese skincare lines carry lotion but not toner.

Shu Uemura Depsea Hydrability Moisturizing Emulsion

Photobucket
This step is always optional for me. I only use if I feel like it because I think I have put too much stuff on my face, either that I just use it on my neck. Show your neck love too! It is said to lock in moisture for 24 hours and intensively hydrates the skin with a mix of depsea water, citasea ferment, mineral algae mgca and hyaluronic acid. Sounds powerful but I am skeptical. It has a very pleasant and calming scent, good for inducing sleep :)
Photobucket
Texture is very lightweight , watery ,soft just like what an emulsion should be, not as thick as a cream.
Pump makes application hygienic. One pump gets a lot out, so I use half a pump.I apply this mostly on my forehead because  I am afraid of the expression lines on them and I want to ease them out with more moisture.

My skin is able to absorb this stuff readily but I find that if I do put too much of it (> 1/2 pump) my face feels like there is something sitting on it which is quite something quite unpleasant, just makes me want to wash it off or something. So don't apply too much!

This is probaby my least favorite product out of the lot since if I over apply I get the ''oily'' feeling and if you ask me I would say get a cheaper moisturiser:)

And I am not done yet! Can't forget about the windows of the soul - the eyes! My eye area is really thin and dry and prone to fine lines so eye cream is a MUST.

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (62 SGD)

Photobucket
I use this in the morning. Contains Aloe Vera, whitch hazel extract, Jojoba Seed, Avocado oil works together to keep the eye area soft, smooth and refreshed.
I find that my concealer glides on really smoothly after it.

Photobucket

Texture is really lightweight and my skin absorbs it easily, which is important for me so I can move on to concealer. Best eyecream I have used so far! I do feel that my eye area is nicely hydrated and moisture is replenished with each application.
This is not oily or heavy at all so if you are afraid of milia seeds this is a good option!

However if you are looking for something that addresses dark eye circle, this might not be for you.

Clinque  Repairwear Intensive Eyecream (70 SGD)

Photobucket
For nighttime, I use something more potent for anti-aging effect.
Photobucket
As you can see texture is definitely heavier and thicker than bobbi brown's hydrating eye cream. I like the thick texture as it is able to form a protective shield on my vulnerable eye area.I do feel a visible difference in appearance of my eye area after daily usage of this. My fine lines around the eyes are less deep set now.

Last but not least! Beauty queens, protect your face! Prevention is definitely better than cure! You all know what I am talking about... sunblock!

Shiseido AquaLabel White Protect Milk UV SPF 30 PA++

Photobucket
Sometimes I do forget sunblock in the rush of mornings and I really hate myself for that. :P . If you are mostly indoor, you still need sunblock because you still get UV radiation from the sunlight through the windows, fluorescent lighting and of course your computer screens (small amounts)!

Exposure to the sun is harmful! It causes freckles, dark spots, and collagen breakdown resulting in wrinkles. That is why I wear shades or carry an umbrella if I need to walk in the sun, even if it is just a short while.

I really like this sunblock as it feels good on my face, not oily or sticky and I feel really freshened up. Some sunblocks stink, but this has a fresh pleasant scent to it. Plus it is not expensive and readily available in Wastons. I definitely don't believe in paying for sunblocks from luxury brands, well unless you are looking for a 3-in-1 kind of product.

And yes, hope you are not dozing off by now, it's me signing off..

Eat your way to beauty

Hi Beauty Queens!

Today I am going to share with you diet tips to keep you beautiful and fabulous more than you already are :).

I reference my diet from the below dietary theories.

1) Perricone Diet - The Anti Aging Diet

I chanced upon this on youtube. (Yes I am a huge youtube addict - I don't even watch television anymore. I love parodies, comedies, home made MTVs and of course all the beauty tutorials!)

According to  Nicholas Perricone, a dermatologist, nutritionist and Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine, aging is caused by cellular inflammation and free radicals from oxidative stress in the body. Food that is high in glycemic index (sugars and simple carbohydrates) causes a sharp rise in blood sugar levels which destroys collagen and increases inflammation which results in wrinkled sagging skin and other signs of aging in addition to making you fat.
The Perricone diet hence advises us to avoid such foods, and also include foods that high in protein (for celluar repair) antioxidants, vitamins (especially C and E) and omega-3 fatty acids.

Food to avoid: Pastries, candies, pasta, potatoes, white bread, white rice, fast food, alcohol, coffee, cereals, soda- basically anything that is starchy, high in sugars or causes free radicals in the body

Recommended foods: Cold water fish like wild salmon, sardines, mackerel, chicken and turkey breast, water, green tea, olives, avocado, nuts and seeds (high in healthy fats), yoghurt, kiwi, melon, berries especially blueberries the 'super'' fruit, hot peppers, sprouts, green leafy vegetables, beans, tomatoes, eggs, tofu, oatmeal

He claims that if you follow the Perricone 3 day face lift meal plan, you will experience a dramatic difference in the way you look and feel - reduced puffiness, firmer jawline and increased radiance!

2) Paleo Diet basically a diet that follows the Paleolithic period of more than 10,000 years ago.The rule is simple ''if the cavemen didn’t eat it, you shouldn’t either". It is based on the premise that human genetic makeup has not changed since the start of the agriculture revolution - though ever since, we have been introducing diary, legumes, refined sugars and processed food in our diet, causing "diseases of civilisation" like hypertension, heart diseases, Alzheimer's, type 2 diabetes.

Food to avoid: Simply all refined sugars and fats, grain products - meaning no pasta, no fast food, no cereals, no pizza, no bread - the list goes on and on!

Food to eat: vegetables, fruits, meat, fish and nuts free of food addictives

3) Aktins Diet- low carb diet that forces your body to burn fats. I am sure everyone has heard of this one! Eating food high in carbohydrates increases glucose insulin response (gluose allowed to enter body cells), causing blood sugar level to fall and one will feel the need to eat high sugar food, leading to the viscous cycle of overeating. This approach involves eating more protein and less carbohydrates and is aimed at weight loss.

And there you have it! My diet is strongly influenced by the 3 diet plans above. Do you see a similarity among these 3?
All of them advise us to avoid simple carbohydrates.

For me, it is always protein first, then carbohydrates  I do not follow any of the above diets strictly. I simply eat what I think is good for me and avoid those that are obviously bad. Afterall, the above 3 did received quite a bit of criticism and doubt and following strictly is just too extreme and infeasible. For example, apparently fruits high in sugars like grapes and bananas are also not recommended in Perricone diet! Also, I think it is ridiculous to do away with grains (Paleo diet). Complex carbohydrates like rolled oats are good for you.

I am really vain so I try to eat more salmon - the miracle anti aging food! Vegetables is a must. My lunch is either sushi/sashimi ,a smoked salmon mixed salad from the salad bar (Munch / the salad shop / fresh + from near my office), a smoked salmon or chicken breast sandwich (I choose wholemeal bread - from Cedele , Swiss bake, Gastronomia) or a low calorie soup like pumpkin soup with a side salad from soup spoon. Believe me, it can get boring so I do eat ramen sometimes too :)
My friends tell me I am already skinny enough and I can skip the salad, but really, I take the salad more for the vitamins and antioxidants than prevent weight gain!  I believe eating well results in long term skin benefits that skincare would not be able to provide.

I take mostly my dinners at home. I believe home cooked food is definitely healthier - you know what goes into your dishes,it is msg free and defintely less trans fats and you can load up on good proteins and vegetables. I am not fussy and I eat whatever is on the table at home since my mom is health conscious herself, mostly a variety of chinese dishes like braised chicken, pork chops, pan fried salmon, omelettes, stir fried vegetable, yes and broiled soups! We take brown rice mixed with rice and I can just eat a small portion without feeling hungry later.

For weekday breakfast, if I do eat it, would be a cup of muesli premixed with dried fruits, nuts and seeds with iced coffee without sugar (Coffee dehydrates your skin but I need it to start the day). Please do not take Granola bars! If you read the nutrition fact it is as good or as harmful as a candy bar. Remember to drink loads of water too!

When I am out with my friends, I try to choose something that is more healthy on the menu like fish.I choose white meat over red because I feel that red meat is kind of hard to digest and it is listed as one of the top foods for weight gain. Also, Itacho and Sushi tei has been on the top of my list for dinner with the girlies.

I am definitely not a health freak though. You do still me feasting on french fries, gelato, pasta, pizza ( I love parma ham pizzas!), burgers on those friday nights when I give myself a little diet holiday when I am out with the bf. I love french and italian food and they are not exactly the food you want to include in your diet. Seriously, things that are bad for you taste sooo good! If I am hungry midday I do still reach for a little bag of chips and ignore the apple on my desk... I do stay away from fast food restaurants though, those stuff have so many chemicals in them and is bound to increase oxidative stress in your body.I also have significantly reduced my alcohol intake over the past year. Seriously, after alcohol consumption,  I always wake up with dry and red blotchy skin the next day.

I have ceased going to the gym many months ago ever since I reduced my food intake (mainly carbs) and saw no need to go exercise other than an occasional swim. I do believe is exercise is necessary to burn calories, tone the body, build muscles and keep the heart healthy, but I am too lazy. And if you do exercise, you really need to increase your calorie intake else you will end up fainting on the treadmill.

To me, it is all about striking a balance in your diet. Too much of any kind of food can never be good for you. For example, when eating salmon outside, it is hard to know if it is farm raised or wild. Who knows, the salmon you might be eating might be loaded with chemicals and omega 6 fatty acids (bad).

And you don't need to make drastic changes in your diet to make a difference. You can start by ditching that soda during lunch for a green tea from the pantry, or skipping that dessert during dinner, or getting a handful of trail mix instead of a chocolate bar when you are hungry.  :)

REVLON Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Review

Hello beauty queens!

Today I am going to review the REVLON Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm which has been highly raved. After hearing so much about them, I was like OMG I MUST GET THEM!

I got mine from drugstore.com and I have to say ... these are TRULY AMAZING.

Moisturises - checked. No lip balm needed before applying. It glides on super smoothly.
Doesn't dry out lips and make lip lines show - checked. Note that most long lasting lipsticks dry out lips quickly!
Long lasting - DOUBLE checked - this stuff are like permanent. I wake up with lips that are still pink because it was too hard to scrub off completely even with makeup remover.
Gives you control over colour strength and vibrancy - Checked - If you want bolder lips, just layer up!

These lip balms are kinda similar to clinique chubby sticks but they really stain your lips in addition to hydrating them!

Cons? I would say colour somewhat changes on your lips after a while and I guess the colour change depends on individuals. Perhaps it's like a balm which kind of infuses into your lips rather than lipsticks and glosses that simply sit on top of your lips.

These are the colours I got! I am a SUCKER for PINK! Especially bright pinks as they give me a nice pop of color to my face and I can do away with the blusher without looking pale.  I do not like anything on my face besides lip/eye pdts for my everyday makeup!
Photobucket

Swatches - with camera flash
 Photobucket
No flash - under sunlight

Photobucket
On my lips - all pictures taken under white light with camera flash:
You can see from the below pictures that they are already really glossy on their own! With lipgloss over them, your lips will look so plump and oh-so-sexy.
Photobucket
Charm is so pretty! My original lip colour is quite rosy so Charm lightens it  and gives them a glossy nude look.
Photobucket
I would describe Cherish as a Candy floss pink.  I had to layer this to get the opacity I want.
Photobucket
Sweetheart is a HOT pink This colour is so fun to wear!
Photobucket
Rendezvous is orange but it kinda looks like orangey red on my lips. I wanted to get Romantic - the red one but drugstore ran out of it :(
Sorry I had to smile pursing my lips because the flash is picking up the inside of my lips which is not coloured..
Photobucket
Photobucket
Lovesick is my FAV colour. It is like a raspberry pink and a true fuschia which I absolutely love. It is not as outlandish pink as sweetheart (which is a little weird) nor as berry as Smitten so it is great colour for work and it really complements my skin tone.
I would say the colour sits in between sweetheart and smitten. If you are wondering which of the bright pinks to get, get lovesick!
Also I find that colour of lovesick doesn't change and stay true to me :)
Photobucket
Smitten doesn't look like the colour on the crayon, which is a good thing. The deep purple on the crayon makes it look like it is for Halloween or something. Smitten is even bolder than lovesick and it has more of a berry tinge to it. It would be my night time lip colour. Both of them are really similar but I think lovesick is something more wearable and the colour of lovesick stays more true throughout on the lips.
Here is another picture with me wearing Smitten. Flash is again capturing the really insides and corners of my lips which I don't color.
Photobucket
Have you gotten your hands on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balms yet?
Hesitate no more because I assure you won't regret your buy! :D  It is not available in SG yet but I assume it would be soon since they have just been released in Hong Kong not long ago. Or you can get them from drugstore.com and ship to SG via vpost! My vpost review and experience is described in the post below :)

Below are more pictures of these great stuff on my lips! (from my instagram stash taken with iphone)
Photobucket
With Lovesick
Photobucket
Lovesick again!
Photobucket
Rendezvous loses it orange colour after a while on me.. so it becomes more of a orangey red.
Photobucket
Colour of cherish - candy floss pink doesn't stay true for long though! It kind of fades away to a reddish pink colour and I find that I have to reapply again to get the same colour again. Looking like nicki minaj here. :P

In case you are wondering what I use on the rest of my face, I will share my everyday makeup pdts in another post! stay tuned!

VPOST REVIEW - FOREVER21, DRUGSTORE, SIGMA, SEPHORA

Today's post, and also first post of this blog is gonna be... *drumroll*

VPOST!
durh, its in my title :)

If you haven't heard of vpost - it is basically a service provided by singpost which allows you to shop on overseas wesbites and ship your stuff to personalised addresses assigned to you (USA, Japan, Europe, China) when you register with vpost.

I am a huge FOREVER21 fan and the range on F21 US website is so much better than we have in the SG stores! I am also a Sephora addict!

So i was like why not? Let me get all these goodies all at one go and realise cost savings since exchange rate is so good now :D

The shipping rate seems reasonable enough - defintely better than international shipping cost. Plus shipping within US is free for most websites if you hit a certain amount.

USA Shipping Charge = Base Charge( S$13.40) + Variable Charge (S7.20/kg - weight charge + S1.90/kg - fuel charge)

And you can consolidate your packages up to 21 days before paying on vpost website (vpost will ship to your sg address thereafter) so means you can shop from multiple online merchants over a period of time! You are only charged base charge once for all your packages that you ship together.

It was really fun shopping online. I spent quite a bit of time though. So hard to decide on all the makeup colours without actually testing them. Only had to rely on online swatches especially for those pdts not available in singapore. And for F21, the pieces I like all had S size OOS so I basically had to keep surfing the website and clicking next , next , next.... -_-

So here is a snap of all the parcels when they arrived!
(as you can see I take crazy loads of shit with instagram) :P
It looks like I bought LOTS of items but actually it's because the boxes are big.

I ordered twice from Sephora. 2nd order only had dior eyeshadow palette and it is the only item in the WHOLE sephora box you see in the picture. The rest of the space is filled with recycled paper. -_-

The website stated:
As per freight industry practice, the chargeable weight of a package is calculated based on Volumetric or Actual weight whichever is higher.

For all my boxes, volumetric weight was higher because the boxes aren't full and seriously how much can makeup weigh?? So i was like whatt! I am paying for shipping of empty space? I actually requested F21/drugstore/sephora/sigma to pack them as compactly as possible... I guess that is like the smallest box they have  or either that they don't entertain such requests. -_-

Total shipping amounted to 70 SGD but I used a promo code for OCBC card from vpost website (remember to use!!http://www.vpost.com.sg/promo/promocodes.html) so I got 20 SGD off.  They have promo codes for visa/uob and dbs too but all were fully redeemed at the time I paid. (first 200 customers of the month)
Anyway here is the TIP OF THE DAY! - BUY MORE! LOL. so your products can fill the empty spaces in the box! Share each order with your friends!! Also, make sure you put all your stuff in one single order...or else you are seriously paying twice the amount for variable weight component. And if you can combine your orders into one, for example some pdts from sephora like two faced and urban decay are also available on beauty.com/drugstore!

From Sephora: Around 10 SGD shipping fee for each parcel
  • SEPHORA  Long-Lasting 12HR Wear Eye Liner 01 Black
  • NARS - Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Place Vendome
  • Laura Mercier Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde
  • Philosophy Turbo Booster C Powder
  • Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow Grege 734
  • Mini Kabuki brush and powder from Bare Esentuals - free sample
Already have the above items prior to this (decided to stock up because they are so good!) except for the nars lipgloss and dior eyeshadow.

From Sigma:
Only bought 1 brush -E45 as I have the full professional set. E45 is a brush you can use for both shading and blending! <3 Oh yea, also the sigma box only contained this brush. @_@  Shipping is around 5 SGD. GRRRR. Talk about waste of space (and paper)! I seriously thought they were going to just wrap it in a envelope.

From Drugstore:
Shipping was only 7 SGD for this! Because the box they use is quite small and hence packing was quite compact. Besides lipsticks aren't heavy!
  • Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in Lovesick, Sweetheart, Smitten (there 3 are pretty similar but I am a sucker for pinks), Cherish and Rendezvous. - HIGHLY RAVED IN YOUTUBE NATION - not available in SG. YET.
  • Revlon Matte Lipstick in pink pout
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Coral Reef, Pink Pursuit, Peach Petal and Pink Pop
  • Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude
Reason why I bought so many revlon lip pdts is because they are SO GOOD. I love their lipglosses after I tried pink afterglow and glossy rose. IMO, better than MAC.
PLUS they are a fraction of the price in SG since they are all made in USA.I also don't see the lipglosses in SG that often.

Dumped the rest in to hit 75 USD to use the VISA promo code to get 10 USD off. (another tip: Please do google for promo codes!)
  • Elf studio contour brush
  • Wet n wild Shimmer eye pencil in Silver
  • Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in Pure White
I am going to review the products in future posts so STAYED TUNED!! <3

Up next: FOREVER21!
Shipping for this was around 24 SGD. Volumetric weight was twice the actual weight of 1+ kg because of the size of box F21 used :(

Items:
Peplum dress in wine (they are so in now I HAD TO GET ONE but couldn't find one that fits me nicely in SG), abstract print romper, neon pink leopard print tank top (I LOVE LEOPARD PRINTS), floral hi -low dress and 3 GEORGEOUS rings and a pair of earrings.

The earrings came defective though :(  A few of the chains were detached. Bf fixed them for me using a pair of piler. Perhaps I will give items with movable parts (does that sound correct? but anw u get what i mean) a miss the next time I purchase from F21. I remembered when I was on exchange in US it happened to my necklace which I shipped from F21 too..

Overall I LOVE all the items I bought from F21. The clothes fit me like a glove (not surprising though since I shop at F21 a lot so I know their sizings). One good thing is the items are all very true to the pictures online.

Had to take a close up on the rings cos they are SO PRETTY! <3

Why SG F21 doesn't have all these pretty stuff? :P

Ending here!

Not sure why I didn't give vpost a try earlier but I am glad I did now!

Have you tried vpost? Let me know by leaving me a comment!
